Med musikk i transitt : Ein studie om einslege mindreårige asylsøkjarar si oppleving av fast deltaking i ei musikkgruppe

Abstract

Summary This study focuses on music in asylum centres. The topic of the study is about how unaccompanied minor asylum seekers experience participating in a music group. Six adolescents who have lived at the current asylum center forms the informants of this study. With a qualitative research design through semi-structured interviews, the study seeks to shed light on the adolescents experiences of participation in a music group at the asylum center where they live. The findings of the study can be summarized in a few main categories: change in mood, a space of freedom, structure and relations. These findings are discussed in relation to theories of living conditions for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers and against music therapy theory. Music therapeutic fields that will be discussed in relation to the current context are a humanistic perspective on music therapy, resource-oriented music therapy and community music therapy. Important topics to the findings and discussion are, music and its influence on cognitive effects and bodily reactions, sense of coherence, resources and development of skills and recognition.

Samandrag Denne studien rettar søkjelyset mot musikk i mottak. Temaet er einslege mindreårige asylsøkjarar si oppleving av deltaking i ei musikkgruppe. Seks ungdommar som har vore innom mottaket det siste året dannar informantgrunnlaget. Informantane er mellom 15 og 18 år, begge kjønn er representert og etnisk opphav variert. Med eit kvalitativt forskingsdesign gjennom semistrukturerte livsverdintervju søkjer studien å belyse ungdommane sine opplevingar av deltaking i ei fast musikkgruppe ved transittmottaket dei bur i. Funna i studien kan oppsummerast i nokre hovudkategoriar: endring i sinnsstemning, eit frirom, struktur og relasjon. Desse funna vert drøfta opp mot teori om levekår for einslege mindreårige asylsøkjarar og opp mot musikkterapeutisk teori. Sentrale musikkterapeutiske felt som her vert drøfta opp mot nemnte mottakskontekst er eit humanistisk perspektiv på musikkterapi, ressursorientert musikkterapi og samfunnsmusikkterapi. Tema som er framtredande i funn og drøfting er , musikk si tilknyting til kognitive verknader og kroppslege reaksjonar, oppleving av samanheng, ressursar og utvikling av ferdigheiter og anerkjenning.
