Organisering av norsk musikkterapi i pediatri. En kvalitativ intervjuundersøkelse

Abstract

Sammendrag. - Denne oppgaven er en kvalitativ undersøkelse som beskriver og undersøker forholdene for norsk musikkterapi i pediatri i et organisasjonsperspektiv. Gjennom intervjuer med musikkterapeuter og ledere ved fem sykehus i Norge, beskrives varierte erfaringer knyttet til organisatorisk tilknytning, klinisk praksis og fagutvikling. Kunnskap fra organisasjonsteori brukes som utgangspunkt for å forstå musikkterapiens utfordringer og muligheter på dette fagfeltet. I oppgaven antydes en sammenheng mellom organisatoriske forhold, faglig rolle og mulighet for fagutvikling, hvor elementer som lederstruktur, målarbeid og kommunikasjon fremstår som sentrale. I oppgavens siste del legges det frem forslag til konkrete tiltak for god integrering av musikkterapi i pediatri i fremtiden.

Abstract. - This thesis is a qualitative study describing and exploring the conditions of Norwegian music therapists in pediatrics within the perspective of organization theory. It describes various experiences concerning organizational affiliation, clinical practice and professional development. The data collection includes interviews with music therapists and their leaders in five Norwegian hospitals. Knowledge from organization theory is used to understand challenges and possibilities within this area of the music therapy practice in the hospitals. The thesis suggests that there is a close connection between organizational structure, professional role and possibilities for professional development that affects the working conditions for the music therapists. The structure of the leadership, the institution´s goals with the music therapy, and structures of communication emerge as important elements to provide a fruitful practice. In the end, the thesis suggests measures that could enhance the integration of music therapy in pediatrics.
